2016 ocMaker Challenge

Join Airwolf 3D at the 2016 ocMaker Challenge

Discovery Cube CenterJoin us on April 29th and 30th at the Discovery Cube in Santa Ana to present the 3rd Annual ocMaker Challenge Exhibit and Competition in the Julianne Argyros Showcase Theater and Exhibition Hall. The 2016 ocMaker Challenge tasks students with designing, building, or significantly re-purposing a product that will solve a problem, need, or want. Participants of the 2016 ocMaker Challenge work collaboratively to design and produce a 3D printed object and then create a video advertisement ‘pitching’ their ideas to a panel of judges. This approach teaches students to consider all aspects of the product development life-cycle and enhances their ability to think critically about complex systems.

3D Printed Cat RingsAirwolf 3D will be showcasing an operational desktop 3D printer at the 2016 ocMaker Challenge so that visitors can learn how innovators use 3D printers to turn computer data into physical objects. Families can explore the 3D printing process through learning about materials and interacting with a collection of 3D printed parts. Airwolf 3D will also be giving away FREE 3D printed cat rings!3D Printed Kitty Rings

A private Awards Ceremony will be held on May 1st where the winners of the 2016 ocMaker Challenge will be awarded cash prizes from Airwolf 3D, MatterHackers, and other sponsors. Participants of the contest will consist of groups from 2 to 5 members and will be scored based upon (1) their description of a problem, (2) their proposed solution, (3) originality of the solution, (4) and organization of their presentation. All projects must be original creations that were designed specifically for the Maker Challenge and must make use of 3D modeling software and 3D printed parts… We hope to see you there!
