More About the Show

Ever wonder how businesses are using 3D printers in LA? Curious about how LA artists are applying 3D technology to their work? Want to know more about 3D printers in LA classrooms?  Then be sure to make your way to the 3D Printer World Expo to be held January 31-February 1, 2014 at the Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel and Convention Center in Burbank, CA. Airwolf 3D, Ca’s leading manufacturer of precision 3D printers, will be there to answer your questions and serve your 3D printing needs.

The 3D Printer World Expo will feature a comprehensive selection of commercial, professional and personal 3D printers, scanners and software, as well as four educational tracks, business case studies, demos and tutorials, a 3D print art gallery, jewelry displays, unique medical, architecture and museum exhibits, 3D modelers sculpting live on the show floor, hourly 3D printer giveaways and much more.

There will be opportunities for in-depth exploration of 3D printers in LA at four concurrent seminars:

Commercial 3D Printing: This track will provide investors, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized business owners and operators with an overview of commercial and consumer 3D printing technologies, capabilities, applications, and economics. In addition, industry thought leaders and entrepreneurs currently using 3D printing in a variety of prototyping and short-run manufacturing applications will provide insights and advice on matching technology to specific business cases and applications.

Desktop 3D Printing Tutorials: This track will introduce attendees to 3D printing hardware, open source 3D printing software, design basics for 3D printable objects, frequently used filaments as well as exotic materials, troubleshooting common setup and print challenges, post-processing tips and tricks, and emerging innovations in personal 3D printing technology. Some of the industry’s best and brightest educators and entrepreneurs will share their experiences and insights, and perform demonstrations, giving participants the opportunity to learn hands-on.

Modeling and Monetizing Designs: This seminar is for artists, including CG animators and 3D modelers who want to learn techniques for making original and existing artwork “printable.” 3D modelers with expertise in designing for 3D printed output will demonstrate the inherent differences in designing for printable objects, common challenges, best practices to meet those challenges, and how colleagues are marketing and monetizing 3D printable art and objects.

3D Printers in the Classroom: This is a special track for educators and school administrators who are developing 3D printing curriculum or evaluating whether their institution can support this technology. Industry experts and educators themselves will cover 3D printer purchasing for different school settings and uses, applications in various fields, grant writing for 3D printing funding, curriculum development, and best practices in the classroom.

The Expo hall will be open Friday, January 29 noon-6:30 pm and Saturday, February 1 from 10 am–5 pm.  Come see us in Booth 109 and 111.
