AW3D HD sets new standards for volume, accuracy and speed for desktop 3D printers.

airwolf-3d-aw3d-hd-02Airwolf 3D, Southern California’s preeminent manufacturer of desktop 3D printers, is releasing the newest addition to its robust line of products–the AW3D HD.  The HD will be debuting at the 3D Printshow in Paris, France on Friday, November 15, 2013.  Joining Airwolf’s popular V.5.5 and XL printers, the HD sets new standards for volume, accuracy and speed. The HD features a class leading print volume of 1,150 cubic inches (12”x8”x12” – approximately 300mm x 200mm x300 mm), coupled with layer-to-layer resolution as fine as .05mm (.002”), lightning-fast speeds and a partially enclosed, yet easily accessible proprietary frame design. The HD is also fully autonomous, meaning that it is not necessary to couple it to a computer to print.

According Airwolf 3D president Erick Wolf,

“With this printer it is now possible to repeatedly print very large objects quickly and precisely in a number of different materials.”

The HD’s proprietary heavy duty frame combined with the judicious use of acrylic, 3D-printed components, and cutting edge technology place Airwolf’s latest creation leaps and bounds ahead of other 3D printers. Adds Wolf, “We applied what we learned from the V.5.5 and XL and customer feedback to design an incredibly reliable 3D printer incorporating oversized motors, precision motion belts, and bullet-proof electronics.” With its new JR hot end the HD can print using a variety of raw materials, including ABS, PLA, PVA, Nylon, T-Glass, Laywood, Laybrick, Bendlay, Soft PLA, and HIPS.
